Hi,
I love your podcast. Thank you so much for commenting and sharing my website Reedy Technologies http://www.lynnreedy.com. I’d like to add an additional suggestion for Pat Hawkenson on involving the entire class. When I taught 6th grade math and had a SMARTboard in my classroom, every student had a small whiteboard with a dry erase marker and eraser that they would use for my interactive lessons with the board. Students could either use them individually or as a group for collaborative activities. In addition, every day each student and each math group had different “jobs”. One of those jobs would be the “presenter” for the SMARTboard. The presenters would use the board to show their math work, homework questions from the class, and answer questions of the day.

Hi folks,
Love your podcasts. I eagerly await the new posting each week. Keep up the great work. One question when saving the lesson files in notebook format, I am having trouble opening them in notebook. I can open them in the browser but only as single pages. I am running Ver 10 beta, is there a way of opening them in notebook. I have tried to import and pick different file types but still no good. I used to open the past notebook files Ok but these don’t appear to have the same extension. I am a senior chemistry teacher and ICT support person at my school plus do a lot of the pd on smartboards.

Hi all,
Your podcasts are great!! I’ve been recommending them to fellow faculty members :) In fact, one of my colleagues mentioned to me the other day that she has started downloading them to take with her to listen to on the way to work. It’s such a great way to pick up tips and tricks :)
That I/O brush is really neat!! I’ll be sure to post a link on the message board for my physical computing class (ISOF Grad class at NYU funded by the National Science Foundation). In our class we are learning how to use Flash and basic programming language. We will use these skills to create a project (to be used in the classroom) that involves a visual response on the computer from a physical stimulus. If you take a look at the ISOF website link below, you can go to the Physical Computing Page to view archives of past projects. It is an incredible program, if you’d like to learn more feel free to leave a message on my blog and I’ll get back to you ;)
Catch you on the rerun
Kristen

When I write up a notebook file on how I want my students to write lab reports, I’m going to include some of the ideas Ben has in this lesson. I particularly like the imagery of the sandwich.
